"Undaunted" by Christine Caine

I read Undaunted last year and am now getting caught up with my reviews from before we moved. So I've been flipping through the pages again tonight and it seems like there is strength written on EVERY page. I was drawn to Undaunted as Christine is a leader of the anti-human trafficking organization A21 campaign. As anti-human trafficking efforts are of interest to me, I wanted to learn the story behind her work. I was surprised to find the book to be about the work God has done in her life from the beginning. Christine shares personal heartbreak and the healing, courage, and purpose that have come forth.

Undaunted is less about human trafficking than I thought it would be, and more about redemption in all of life. Christine paints the picture of her past, what God has done, and shares the hope ahead. She speaks wisdom and practical advice for times of pain and discouragement. This is where I really found value in her writing. Her life and faith are truly a beautiful story woven together. I could relate to her broken family past, her fight for personal freedom and her calling to rescue others from darkness. I do have to admit that sometimes the book lost me with the focus and flow of the content, but Christine tells her stories so engagingly that I didn't always care if it took a direction unexpected. This is after all how God seemed to work in the journey of making Undaunted a holy calling.
