Pulling on my Sleeve

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.... {Hebrews 11:13}

Today's word is See. And I don't know what to say because my glasses are foggy.

There's a place between hearing God's word and receiving what He promises that gets pretty cloudy. It's hard to believe. Hard to know for sure. Hard to wait expectantly. We may laugh like Sarah or fall out cry like Hannah or think we might perish as Esther did.

Sometimes there's not enough faith to see.

Maybe that's why He's been pulling on my heart, pulling on my sleeve, pulling out new specs and showing me He is faithful.

(These pics are by Awakened Images for our wedding in MI. Same moment, 2 different perspectives.)

This is a Five Minute Friday. If you're a blogger, write with us in 2014, seriously do it!

  1. So true. Some days I feel like all of those women all wrapped into one. And just having that faith can be so hard! Happy FMF, friend!

  2. Oh Rachel you have put sweet words to my feelings. There are those days that I truly do not seem to have enough faith to see. But He is still pulling and tugging at my heart to show me more and more. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed have you at the #FMFParty last night.

  3. Love this -- and I totally struggle with it daily: "There's a place between hearing God's word and receiving what He promises that gets pretty cloudy. It's hard to believe. Hard to know for sure."
