Broken Order.

This is my first 5 Minute Fridays post & I'll admit I'm losing time thinking...always thinking about how I can do something better, make something wonderful come out of this life.

Do I do it for Him? Or do I strive for my own too-high standards?

See somewhere along the way I broke the order. I became the watchman, I became the builder. And I've lost sleep, lost peace, lost my mind sometimes, lost time, lost the gift of love. The gift of care.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
    the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.

In vain you rise early
    and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.

He is my watchmen over my life, the builder of my dreams, the granter of sweet restoring rest. It's about time I took Him up on his goodness and strength and let myself "let go" of the work for awhile.

On that note, off to bed,
Rachel

  4. Welcome to FMF !! I have only joined in for few weeks now and it is an awesome group of writers/encouragers.

There is such a freedom when we get things in order and let go, isn't it.

  6. Great insight, Rachel: "Do I do it for Him or for myself?". It can be such a struggle. Love the honesty!
