Sweetenin' Our Home

Hi all, welcome to the "Close To My Heart Valentine" Blog Hop!

If you have come here from Jayma Malme's blog, then you are on the right path.

Like many of you I have been sprucing up & organizing my home this January. Well in between my baby's sicknesses; she now has RSV poor thing. Pray for her if you would, it's been a rough month!

The project I created is a cheerful Heart Wreath. Our home seemed plain after Christmas and this lil' wreath is just right!

Using Footloose (retired) CTMH paper, I was inspired by The Hybrid Chick. It's an easy project I did in an hour while watching BOTH my infant & the Bucket List. I LOVE crafts I can do quickly & baby Julia was fascinated with watching me fold up the hearts. Win-win!

Love beach inspired crafty fun like I do? Be sure to watch for the new Surf's Up collection, one of our many new CTMH products debuting in February!

DIY TIP: If you make this project with cardstock like I did (instead of photo paper as directions suggest), I'd recommend 8 hearts vs. 12 for a better shape and hold. Also since I didn't do pink & flowers, I can keep it up for St. Pattie's Day. For an Irish girl, it's another win!

Kitchen Organizing Update:
I tackled the dreaded Tupperware cabinet! The key element here is the large tupperware keeping all those lids from total chaos. Julia loves to play in it, which is really cute I have to say:)

If you read my blog much last year, the theme for me was JOY & I'm thinking this year it is going to be CHEER.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine". Proverbs 17:22

NEXT HOP: Stephanie Chumbley's blog to see her Valentine fun!

with redeeming hands,
Rachel

  1. Poor baby! Will add her and you to my prayer list!
I LOVE that this is perfect for Valentines day AND perfect for St. Patricks day!!! How perfect!!! I love quick crafts I can make while Jr is awake! They just don't sleep enough to do all the cleaning and get enough craft time in! Lol!

  2. Lovely hearts! This is a creative way of using some stash and left-over papers. I'm sorry though that Julia is sick, sending her healing prayers.

  3. What a clever way to use up retired paper! This is adorable, Rachel. :-) I'm so sorry your little one is sick. I don't know what RSV does, but it can't be good! I said a prayer on her behalf and I hope she feels better soon. You're doing great on your organizing! I love before/after pictures of any kind.

  4. Your wreath is adorable! I have a wreath that I cut out the paper for (2 years ago!) so your project motivates me to find it and put it together. I love your theme for this year!
