Countin' it all joy!

Hi all! Welcome to my revived blog {it's still a work in progress}!

I'm a new busy mom to my 3 month old Julia & it's an understatement to say it is hard to juggle a creative life these days. But I'm more inspired than ever to provide my readers with glimpses of creative fun, stories of redemption, and a lil' of everything else in between!

One of my latest projects was inspired by making room for MORE JOY in the midst of the chaos of life with a newborn. A lot of my time these days is consumed by chores that require counting and I dislike math, especially when I'm sleep deprived. From sun-up to sun-down I count how many prepared formula bottles we have left, how many ounces of water/formula go in each bottle, how many clean diapers we have left, how many poopy diapers baby is having, how many hours it's been since Julia ate last, how many hours til my husband Nate comes home to help (lol), etc.

Anyhow I needed some reminder for joy in the daily repetitiveness of seemingly endless tasks. Here's my inspiration: Count it all joy when you fall into various trials,  knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1: 2-4) I know counting bottles or diapers aren't trials but the total sum of doing them on top of everything else sometimes feels like a trial:)

So I made up this lil' note of encouragement for myself using Close To My Heart Products & hung it over the diaper changing area so I can be reminded of JOY all day long!

{...even when you're changing the 10th diaper of the day}
{featuring these CTMH supplies: edge distresser, Stella Paper & Stickease, Glue Dots, Smoothie Marker, Sunset Ink, Paradise Baker's Twine}

I'm flipping the script and counting it ALL joy that I have a little family to love and care for, a healthy, happy baby, & a bright future of completeness.

{my happy girl}
with redeeming hands,
Rachel
